Corinth doctor arrested in fatal high-speed car crash

An Alcorn County doctor was arrested for killing someone while driving more than 100 miles per hour.

Michael Hawley, 44, of Corinth turned himself in to authorities this week in connection with the April 25 incident that killed William Pady, 81. Hawley works as an internal medicine physician at Magnolia Regional Community Care Clinic, according to Baptist Health Services. Website.

Corinth police reported Hawley was driving at least 60 mph over the speed limit before colliding with Pady’s SUV on Highway 72. The area is listed as a 45 mph zone. Hawley was charged with involuntary manslaughter.

It is unclear whether Hawley’s employment was terminated as a result of the incident. SuperTalk Mississippi News has reached out to Magnolia Regional Community Care Clinic for comment.
