Update on cyber security incidents

Updated on June 10, 2024

The City of Wichita reports that recovery efforts from the recent cybersecurity incident are progressing well, with most publicly accessible systems now back up and running, with a few exceptions.

Water metering, billing and payment processing systems are back online. Customers should expect to receive updated bills this week. Automatic payments will work as normal and customers should now be able to access their utility accounts online. Bills can be paid by credit card, cash, check and money order by coming to City Hall, accessing your water account online at https://link.wichita.gov, calling (316) 265-1300 or mailing payment.

Please note that due to the cyber incident that impacted bill and payment processing, some June bills will include more than 60 days of service. If needed, please speak with a representative at (316) 265-1300 to make payment arrangements and work out a plan to get your account back current. Please review the water bill payment FAQs at www.wichita.gov/alert if you experience disruptions in accessing your account.

Further service updates from the city:
