Actress and two other people mix alcohol into girl’s drink and harass her at birthday party

CHENNAI: Two persons, including a small-time actress, have been arrested in a POCSO case for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl after slipping drugs into her drink during a birthday party.

Police have also launched a manhunt for another man involved in the case.

The suspects were identified as actress Pratiksha Akira and her boyfriend Somesh, a college student. Police said the victim met Pratiksha when she met her at a cafe a few months ago.

Pratiksha invited the girl to her birthday party at her house in Saligramam last month. During the party, the actress allegedly gave the girl a drugged drink, after which the girl fell unconscious.

“Pratiksha, Somesh and another man, Williams, took advantage of this and sexually abused her. The actress also threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident,” police said.

A few weeks ago, Preethi complained to her elder sister about a stomach ache. She was taken to the hospital where she narrated the incident.

The hospital authorities informed the police, who registered the case and began an investigation. On Saturday, the police arrested Pratiksha and Somesh. They were remanded in custody.
