Vehicle hits house in Lockport, crashes into pole

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Gasport man was arrested for DWI after the vehicle he was driving allegedly struck a home in Lockport, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said.

Shortly before 4:40 a.m. Sunday, authorities said they received a 911 call about a vehicle hitting a home on Ridge Road. An SUV was discovered overturned and crashed into a utility pole after hitting the house. The driver allegedly fled.


The homeowner was inside the Lockport home at the time, but was not injured.

Timothy Outten, 26, of Gasport, was located a short distance away and transported to ECMC for evaluation. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. He was released to ECMC on appearance tickets.

Outten is expected at Lockport Court at a later date.
