Rape: Partner accused of rape | Surat News

Surat: A 25-year-old woman has filed a rape complaint against her 36-year-old live-in partner at Umra police station. She alleges that he also assaulted her and hurled caste-related insults. Police arrested the accused Jitendra Singh Sikarwar and charged him under sections of the IPC for multiple counts of rape, assault and other offences and sections of the Atrocities Act. Sikarwar and the woman met at her workplace two years ago and started a romantic relationship. The woman alleges that he forced her into physical relations several times. One and a half months ago, she left the house after he allegedly beat her up. A week ago, they came to an agreement and she returned to stay with him. On Saturday, he allegedly slapped her and then raped her. Umra police have handed over the investigation to the SC-ST cell and Deputy Commissioner of Police VP Gamit is probing the case. “Both were unmarried and were living together for the past two years. Sikarwar runs a plastic goods business. “We are finding out if he raped another woman,” Gamit said.
