Fargo man arrested after chase in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Minn. (Valley News Live) – A Fargo man is in jail following a car chase in Cass County Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 12:40 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a man who may have been under the influence of narcotics and experiencing a mental health crisis. Officers located Jordon Arthur Wichman, 32, in rural Casselton.

Officers attempted to make contact with Wichman, but he allegedly fled from officers and attempted to ram a patrol car with an officer inside.

Following a chase involving the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Wichman’s vehicle came to a stop after attempting to drive through a ditch off of I-94 near County Road 9.

Wichman was taken into custody by the Highway Patrol. Custody was turned over to the Sheriff’s Office. He was medically evaluated at a local hospital and booked into the Cass County Jail.

Wichman was arrested for the following offenses: reckless endangerment, fleeing with a motor vehicle, evading apprehension, and driving under the influence of drugs.

The investigation is not yet complete.
