Oxford police arrest man in connection with purse robbery at Market Basket

OXFORD – Oxford Police officers responded to a purse snatching call today at the Market Basket on Sutton Avenue, resulting in the arrest of a 53-year-old man.

Authorities were called to the grocery store after a stolen purse was reported.

The subsequent investigation indicated that Raymond Gonzalez of Webster was the suspect.

Gonzalez was arrested at his home at 119 Thompson Road and is charged with theft.

Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Dudley District Court.

His bail was set at $140.
