Mythbusters star Adam Savage denies allegations of sexual abuse of his sister

Mythbusters host Adam Savage was accused of sexually abusing his younger sister “on multiple occasions”, Miranda Savage Pacchianawhen she was just 7 and he was 9, according to lawsuit documents obtained by E! News.

“From about 1976 to about 1979, Adam Savage repeatedly raped Miranda Pacchiana and forced her to perform oral sex on her. He also forced Miranda to perform oral sex on him and engaged in other forms of sexual abuse,” the lawsuit states.

The allegations against Adam continue: “(Miranda) was approximately between the ages of seven and ten and was horrified and traumatized by the sexual abuse and assaults committed against her by her older brother.” At the time of the alleged sexual abuse, Adam was between the ages of nine and twelve.

According to the lawsuit, Miranda claims her older brother called him a “rapist” and tried to disguise the abuse as a game between siblings.

“Adam Savage prevented (Miranda) from leaving her bed and raped her anally,” the documents state. In addition, Miranda will “file suit to repair the emotional and physical suffering she endured and to ensure that no other child is forced to endure the abuse and physical and emotional trauma she felt and continues to feel.”

Miranda, who filed the lawsuit under the New York Child Victims Act, is seeking unspecified damages for the abuse, which she says left her with “severe and varied psychological injuries, as well as emotional suffering, mental anguish, embarrassment and humiliation.”

Her brother Adam denies the allegations of sexual abuse.

In a statement to E! News, Adam said: “While I hope my sister gets the help she needs to find peace, this has to stop. For many years she has relentlessly and falsely attacked me and other members of my family to anyone who would listen.”

“By spreading numerous untrue stories about us in search of a financial windfall, she has tormented our entire family and alienated herself from all of us,” the statement continued. “I will fight this baseless and offensive lawsuit and work to end this once and for all.”

Adam and Miranda’s mother Karen Savage said in a statement to E! News: “I am very sad to have to say this, but my daughter suffers from severe mental health issues and it is devastating that she would do this to Adam and our entire family. Adam is a good man and I fully support him.”

For decades afterward, I struggled with depression and near-constant anxiety. The public needs to know that Adam Savage sexually abused me as a child, as laid out in the lawsuit I was finally able to file after all these years.”
