One dead in fatal nighttime accident on SPID and Jonnell Street

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Nueces County ESD 2 reports one person is dead in a car crash that occurred early Sunday morning near SPID and Jonnell Street in the Flour Bluff area.

Authorities said crews from the Corpus Christi Fire Department and ESD2 responded to the fatal crash on eastbound SPID near Jonnell Street around 4 a.m. Crews used rescue shears to extract the victim, who unfortunately died as a result of the crash. No other injuries were reported.

There is no information yet about the cause of the accident.
