Sorry everyone, says Ranchi student gang who were raped by two people and die by suicide

The Ranchi Police in Jharkhand has registered a case of abetment of suicide after a second-year forestry student of Birsa Agriculture University (BAU) died by suicide on Sunday night, two months after she was raped multiple times by her acquaintances had been.

A police official familiar with the incident said a first information report (FIR) was registered on the statement of her mother, who lodged the complaint on Tuesday, a day after the woman’s last rites following the autopsy at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) .

Officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Kuldeep Kumar said, “The FIR has been registered under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and an investigation has been initiated.”

“The police and the woman’s family had no information about the gang rape, although according to two suicide notes written by the woman’s family a month apart, a gang rape was committed on March 6. The suicide note names two young people involved in gang rape. “We are trying to find out under what circumstances the woman, who had not informed anyone about the rape, wrote a suicide note two months before she committed suicide,” Kumar said.

A police official familiar with the case said: “On May 5, the woman fell asleep in her room after dinner. When the door to her room opened late the next morning (May 6), her parents sensed something was wrong and broke down the door. They found the woman dead. The police were informed and her body was sent for an autopsy. The next day, an FIR was registered based on a written statement from the woman’s mother.”

The police officer said, “According to the suicide note, two youths from Kathitand under Ratu police station, Anand Minz and Arvind Kindo, called the woman on March 6 and committed gang rape at a place near Kokar Chowk under Sadar police station.”

A police official said the suicide note did not mention how the rapists managed to call the woman.

According to police, the woman blamed the duo for her suicide. “The reason for my suicide is Anand Minz and Arvind Kindo, who live in Kathitand. On March 6, they lured me to go to Kokar Chowk and then gang-raped me. I won’t be able to survive suffocation. That’s why I’m leaving. Sorry everyone…! I’m sorry, mother…! “Everything is captured on video surveillance,” she said in her suicide note.
