Man arrested after fatal shooting in Westminster: police

DENVER (KDVR) — A 37-year-old man was taken into custody Saturday after a woman died from a gunshot wound.

Jesse Aaron Gladney was taken to the Adams County Detention Center.


On Saturday around 8 p.m., Westminster Police received a call about a possible domestic violence incident in the 12,000 block of Melody Drive.

The reporting officer provided a description of the suspect vehicle leaving the area before officers arrived on the scene. The information was shared with other surrounding agencies.

A short time later, Thornton Police received a call from the area of ​​12000 Colorado Boulevard about a woman who had been shot in a car that matched the description from the first Westminster incident.

Both police departments tried unsuccessfully to find the car.

Later, a nearby hospital reported that a woman had suffered a gunshot wound. Officers went to the hospital and learned that the woman had died from her injuries.

The police have contacted the driver of the car.

Gladney was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree murder.
