One person was killed and two others were injured in an accident between an SUV and a train in Knox County shortly after noon Sunday afternoon near Emison, Indiana.

According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Noah Strange was killed when the SUV he was driving eastbound on Joseph Emison Road attempted to cross the railroad tracks and was struck by a southbound train.

Two other teenagers in the SUV were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with serious injuries.

The sheriff’s office, several local fire departments and paramedics arrived on scene.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
