2 officers hospitalized with minor injuries after pursuit of armed suspect, Baltimore police say – Baltimore Sun

According to police, two Baltimore police officers were injured Sunday morning while pursuing an armed person.

At around 12:55 a.m., officers responded to reports of an armed person and moved to the 1400 block of East Fayette Street in the area of ​​the Dunbar-Broadway and Washington Hill neighborhoods, police said.

Upon arrival, police identified a male suspect whose behavior was “consistent with that of an armed person.” Police were unable to determine what this behavior was.

According to police, the man fled on foot when an attempt was made to arrest him, after which officers began a pursuit.

During the arrest and detention of the suspect, two officers sustained minor injuries as the suspect resisted arrest, according to police. Both officers were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

A firearm was seized and the suspect was taken to the central booking office for processing, police said.
