Man films 16-year-old and rapes her several times after threatening to release the video

In Jalandhar, Punjab, a 16-year-old girl was raped and filmed by an adult man. Subsequently, the accused allegedly further sexually abused the victim after threatening to make the video public. Basti Bawa Khel police station has filed a chargesheet against the accused, identified as Ayush, a resident of Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, under Section 376 (Rape) of the IPC, IT Act and POCSO Act.

According to the information, the medical examination of the 16-year-old girl was conducted on Saturday. The police have started searching for the accused. The victim is an 8th grade student. In her statement to the police, the 16-year-old girl said that she had been having problems at home for the past few days, which is why her family asked her about it. The family asked the girl several times what happened, but she did not reveal any information.

The girl stated that she was afraid of the accused because of the video that was in his possession. For this reason, she did not disclose any information to her parents. However, when asked to do so, she told her whole story.

The family reached Basti Bawa Khel police station where the police immediately conducted a medical examination on the girl and registered a case under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC, IT Act and POCSO Act.

The victim said that the accused committed this act about 3 months ago. He physically abused her and threatened to make the video viral. Police said that the accused would soon be arrested and produced before the court for remand.
