Dog attacks suspect during argument over broken window in Philadelphia

A dog was shot and killed after attacking a man who allegedly smashed his owner’s window in Philadelphia. The altercation broke out around 3 a.m. Friday in the Tioga-Nicetown neighborhood.

A 56-year-old woman left her home at 3100 Bambrey Street after the suspect smashed her window. An argument ensued that escalated into physical violence, and then the victim’s dog lunged at the suspect.

The person who broke the window shot the dog in the side and leg. The shooter then fled the scene.

The dog was taken to Philadelphia Animal Specialty’s emergency room where his injuries were treated. His condition is not yet known.

No weapons were seized and no arrests were made. The incident comes after a series of similar animal shootings in the city over the past seven weeks.
