Police: More than 30 shots fired in shooting, two teenagers injured – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are investigating after two teenagers were hospitalized in a shooting in the city’s Cobbs Creek neighborhood late Saturday night.

According to Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace, officers responded to the area of 59th and Spruce Street around 11:40 p.m. Saturday and found a 15-year-old boy who had been shot in the stomach.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was in critical condition, according to Pace.

In addition, authorities said, a 19-year-old woman was shot in the leg and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Pace said investigators believe at least 30 shots were fired in that shooting because the ground in the area was littered with shell casings.

“We’ve counted about 32 so far,” he told NBC10.

As could be seen at the crime scene, cars in the area were hit by ricochets during the shooting.

Pace said police have not made any arrests in connection with this incident, but the investigation into this shooting is still ongoing.
