One dead in nighttime car crash in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – One person died in a crash early Sunday morning in Marion County.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m., the driver of a Nissan sedan was driving south on Bluff Street near US 76 in the city of Marion and attempted to flee from police.

The driver then left the road, hit a ditch, a power pole and a sign and overturned.

The driver of the limousine died at the scene of the accident.
