Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Petty sued for alleged harassment by woman who accused him of rape

Nicki Minaj and her husband are being sued for alleged harassment by a woman who accuses him of raping her 27 years ago.

The 43-year-old woman claims she was the victim of a “flood of harassing calls and unwanted visits” from Minajher husband Kenneth Petty and her staff.

She says they offered her $500,000 (£360,000) to get her to recant her statement that Petty attacked her when she was 16 in Queens. new York in 1994.

Petty, who has an eleven-month-old son with Minaj, pleaded guilty to attempted rape and served a four-and-a-half-year prison sentence.

The new lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, alleges that Petty, 43, was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in California Last year, the plaintiff began receiving messages from the couple.

It is said that rap superstar Minaj tried to fly her Los Angeles so that she could “help” her with the legal steps.

The plaintiff then claims that Minaj tried to get her to accept a statement written by her press agent in which she retracted all allegations of sexual assault made in 1994.

During one of the conversations, the plaintiff told the rapper, “You need to know woman to woman that this happened,” the lawsuit states.

Afterwards, she says she was subjected to an “attack” in which two people contacted a member of her family and told her that Minaj would offer her half a million dollars if she retracted her claims.

At one point, Minaj reportedly offered to send the woman’s 16-year-old daughter a customized birthday message.

The star is also said to have offered her $20,000 (£14,000) in cash.

According to the lawsuit, the woman has been “desperate” and unable to work since May 2020 because she suffers from “severe depression, paranoia, constant moving, harassment and threats.”

She now lives in isolation in Florida for fear of retaliation.

Minaj and Petty have not yet responded to the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages.
