Shooting in Columbus that killed teenager remains unsolved two years later

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Authorities are offering a cash reward for answers related to a fatal 2021 shooting that left a 16-year-old dead in northeast Columbus.


According to Columbus Police, officers arrived at the scene in the 2000 block of Willamont Avenue at approximately 8:59 p.m. on November 4, 2021, after a shooting was reported. Rycheous McKinney, 16, was found with a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the shooting and is asking anyone with information to call 614-461-TIPS or visit www.stopcrime.org and submit a tip.
