Husband and wife found dead in apartment in reported murder-suicide

Clayton police say they are investigating what led to a suspected murder-suicide in Gloucester County on Tuesday evening.

According to authorities, they were called to the Academy Arms Apartments at 357 N. Broad St. at 7 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

According to police, officers arrived at the scene and found a 45-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman dead in an apartment. They say the initial investigation suggests it was a murder-suicide.

No further information was provided. The investigation is ongoing and police say there is no threat to the public.
