Eric Anderson obituary – FL

ANDERSON, ERIC O. “ANDY”, 82, of Leesburg, having recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia, died February 21, 2005 after a battle with cancer. He was born January 30, 1923 in Smedjebacken, Sweden to Carl and Agnes Anderson, and moved to Whitensville, MA at a young age. Andy proudly served in the United States Navy (Tin Can Sailor) aboard the USS Roe from 1941 to 1947. Following his service to his country, he graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and worked in the advertising department of General Electric for 10 years before moving to Orlando. He owned and operated his own advertising agency for many years before retiring in 1975. He and his wife, Lisa, traveled across the United States in an RV for two years, after which they returned in Florida. Hiking several portions of the Appalachian Trail was one of his passions. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Larson Anderson (also born in Sweden); his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joan Anderson of Orlando; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Bill Dawkins of Atlanta, Georgia, Patty and Russ Charest, of Clermont, Florida, and two grandsons, Scott Dawkins of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jeffrey Dawkins of Atlanta, Georgia and a sister, Mary Longmuir, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A private service will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity in his memory.
