Jon Rahm and Louis Oosthuizen withdraw from LIV Golf Houston

After playing his first round and scoring a 3-under 69, Louis Oosthuizen withdrew from the event. It was later revealed that the South African pro was suffering from lower back pain and therefore decided to stop the play. Meanwhile, Jon Rahm was apparently playing Friday’s round with an injury.

In the first round, the Spaniard had some movement issues but managed to score a 3-under 69 and was tied for 15th position with Oosthuizen. On the second day, Rahm played six holes (all par) then decided to withdraw from the event. According to LIV Golf, a foot infection was cited as the reason for his early exit. The two pros were replaced by Wade Ormsby and Ben Campbell respectively.

Jon Rahm was injured at a very crucial time with the US Open just four days away. The injury could prove to be a nightmare for Rahm. this could not only affect his performance at Pinehurst, but also possibly prevent him from playing in this season’s third major. Regardless, LIV Golf Houston has moved forward without both players and soon victory will be on the podium.
