Red Dead Redemption 2’s “alternate ending” is the most satisfying thing we’ve ever seen

Red Dead Redemption 2's

Justice has finally been done

If there is one thing we all agree on after playing Red Dead Redemption 2, it’s that we hate Micah. Thankfully, this “alternate ending” somehow deals with one of the most hated characters in gaming.

Micah Bell. Oh, where do I begin?

As a member of the Van der Linde gang and antagonist in Red Dead Redemption 2, Micah has established himself as one of the greatest villains in gaming history.

Visit the Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer below!

From his constant provocations to his outright betrayal, Micah is a man Arthur (and the player) simply has to put up with, but an in-game mission could have given us the chance to silence him once and for all.

In the mission “Blessed are the meek?” Arthur must rescue Micah from prison after he is arrested for a double murder in Strawberry.

Although many players put off this mission as long as possible to avoid having to deal with him, they eventually had to go there and free him. Whether they shot their way through the prison or used dynamite to blow up the basement, Micah was eventually freed and became a nuisance once again.

However, a video on r/RDR2 offers an alternate ending to this quest, and I for one fully support it.

The video shows Arthur ignoring Micah’s cries for help, heading to the basement and blowing it up while Micah is still trapped inside. Of course, this caused the credits to roll, but I think it’s a necessary sacrifice, and many seem to agree.

One comment read: “Perfect. Best game, even with the ending. Now let’s go fishing.”

Another agreed, saying, “Every playthrough I avoid this mission as late as possible since I first played it. Micah should have stayed where he belonged.”

It’s also led to people talking about how there will be more choices in the next installment, which might allow us to let certain characters (I won’t name names) die, but since Rockstar usually focuses on a linear narrative, that remains to be seen.
