Man sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for sexually abusing 30 girls online

A man suspected of sexually abusing at least 30 teenagers and young women online has been sentenced by judges in Breda to 6.5 years in prison followed by psychiatric treatment.

25-year-old Gianni de W faced seven years in prison for sextortion over a period of eight years.

The court said De W put his own needs first and ignored the suffering he caused his victims, many of whom were minors at the time. The victims still feel shame and sadness And Anger, the court said. “You have caused enormous harm to many girls.”

Prosecutors said De W, from Etten-Leur, blackmailed more than 170 girls last year who sent him nude photos of themselves. They managed to determine the identities of 130 people, 93 of whom were under 18 years old. The youngest known victim was just 13 years old.

On De W’s computer, investigators found 150 files with different girls’ names, some of which contained thousands of photos of the same girl.

The man who used variants At He discovered the name Bryan in his contacts, contacted the girls on social media and offered them cash in exchange for nude photos. He then threatened to post the pictures online unless they sent him more pictures.

De W was also ordered to pay compensation to his victims, some of whom were in court to hear the verdict sum up €91,000. About 20 of the 30 victims had applied to the court for compensation.
