Driver evacuated by helicopter after three-car crash in Yates County – Finger Lakes Daily News

One of the drivers involved in a three-car crash in Yates County on Saturday afternoon had to be extricated from his vehicle and then flown by helicopter to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The Sheriff’s Department reports that 19-year-old Brenden Manahan of Penn Yan had stopped in the southbound lane of Route 14A in Milo to turn into the Friendly Motors store when 82-year-old Thomas Robinson of Springwater struck his vehicle. The impact caused Manahan’s vehicle to veer into the northbound lane and collide with a semi-truck.

Manahan, his passenger, 18-year-old Jaxson Enos of Penn Yan, and the driver of the tractor-trailer, 60-year-old George Moore of Branchport, were processed at the scene and released.

After Robinson was cut from his car by Penn Yan Fire Department, he was flown by Mercy Flight to Rochester for treatment of his arm injuries.

Charges will be filed pending the completion of further investigations.

Penn Yan and Yates County ambulances also arrived at the scene.
