“Into the Pit” offers first insights into the incident with the missing children

The first glimpses of Into the Pit already prove that it aims to offer players more blood and brutality than other Five Nights at Freddy’s games.

Members of Five Nights at Freddy’s Fans were treated to a trailer for Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming 2D single-player adventure game. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pitan adaptation of the first short story in the Fazbear Horror novel series of the same name. The combination of an atmospheric and stylized trailer and several additional gifs and images released on the Mega Cat website for the game generated a lot of excitement, with one scene in particular catching viewers’ attention as it was the first look at a central part of FNaF Tradition – the incident with the missing children.

The Missing Children Incident (MCI) is a collection of sinister deeds that occurred (most likely) in 1985 at a branch of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a series of murders committed by William Afton. Given the importance of the MCI in FNaF Fans of the story are excited to see Afton’s crimes depicted in this way, and it has to be said – this kind of brutality isn’t often depicted visually in games, and this short snippet definitely raises interest and hopes (maybe even expectations) about the game. You can check out the full GIF below on the game’s official website, but here’s a pretty good snippet from it for reference:

To say that this moment adds to the bloodshed we’ve seen in the game series so far isn’t saying much, honestly – the imagery is still incredibly tame, with only the kids’ legs visible while the rest of their bodies are shrouded in darkness. What we see in the scene is enough to get your imagination going, though, and who knows – maybe we’ll see more in the game? For now, the bloodshed aspect remains tame for what we’ve seen so far, as many people have already noted online, which overall suggests continued demand for the. FNaF The franchise as a whole should fully embrace the horror genre and offer audiences a bit more blood.

If you ask me, even the legs of children’s corpses in a video game like this is a massive leap in a much darker direction for the franchise, and I really love the framing of this shot. The trailer may only be a little over a minute long, but that’s more than enough to make me desperate to get my hands on this game.

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Into the Pit (Five Nights At Freddy’s: Into the Pit) is a will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, and Mega Cat Studios has not announced an exact release date for the game at this time…though the Jeff’s Pizza website previously indicated that more is likely to come this week (the site has since been put into maintenance mode). As for the film adaptation, the latest update comes from Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum during Summer Game Fest that the studio is “working on the sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’swhose premiere date was recently set for next year.

One cool aspect of the scene is the conversations it has sparked online, specifically about this scene. There has been some debate about what this version of the missing children incident means to the overall situation. FNaF Lore given the number of children in the scene – but even that is speculation as some viewers see five (which would be consistent with established canon) while others believe it’s six.
