Man on minibike leads Hawthorne police on bizarre chase

HAWTHORNE, Calif. (KABC) – A man on a minibike led police on a bizarre chase in Hawthorne on Saturday night.

A video obtained by Eyewitness News shows several police cars following the man as he sped down Crenshaw Boulevard.

The pursuit ended at the corner of 49th Street and Central Avenue in the South Park neighborhood when a police officer struck the motorcycle and forced the driver off the road. The man was arrested shortly afterward. It is unclear why he was wanted.

No injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
