Ryan Garcia was arrested in Los Angeles after the boxer committed a disturbing incident

Ryan Garcia was reportedly arrested in Los Angeles for vandalism at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills.

According to TMZ, the boxer was arrested and taken into custody on Saturday afternoon after apparently causing property damage in the hotel, including in his room.

TMZ claims Garcia was “apparently under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs” but cooperated with authorities during his arrest.

The 25-year-old defeated Devin Haney earlier this year, but his erratic behavior beforehand made many doubt whether he was mentally stable enough for the fight. After his surprise victory, he failed a doping test.

TMZ reported earlier this week that Garcia was checked by police at the same hotel after a family member called concerned about his well-being. Offers apparently determined he was fine and the matter was closed.

But his arrest on Saturday in California is the latest incident that worries Garcia.

In December 2023, he divorced his wife Andrea Celina immediately after the birth of their second child.

Then, in the run-up to his highly anticipated clash with Haney in April, he sparked widespread online fears about his mental health with a series of disturbing and bizarre tirades, including one in which he claimed his throat had been slit.

Garcia also claimed to have been raped by a family member at a young age. He claimed he was tied up in the forest by “the elite” and forced to watch the rape of a child.

Due to concerns about his mental state, he arrived nearly two kilograms overweight for his rematch against WBC super-lightweight champion Haney, meaning he was unable to win the title despite his victory that evening.

And after his point victory in Brooklyn, it later emerged that Garcia had tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine the day before and the day of the fight, before his B-sample tests produced the same result.

However, his team claims that the results of the B sample are proof of her husband’s innocence and insists that he was merely the victim of contamination of the dietary supplement.

Haney demanded that the result be changed to a victory by disqualification, while his father said Garcia should be banned from boxing for life.

On Wednesday, Garcia announced on social media that his mother, Lisa, is currently battling breast cancer.

“My mom gave me the OK to post,” he wrote. “Please pray for my mom.”

“Cancer is STUPID, I don’t care, she will win – Breast cancer is stupid, JESUS IS ABOVE ALL.”
