Traffic accident on South 84th Street in Lincoln claims one life

The accident occurred around 3 p.m. on South 84th Street between Old Cheney and Augusta Drive.

According to Lt. Brian Golden, a car traveling south on 84th Street crossed into the northbound lanes and struck three other cars.

The driver of a northbound car was killed. A passenger in the same car and the driver of the southbound car were both taken to the hospital in critical condition. The drivers of the other two northbound vehicles did not suffer critical injuries.

Traffic was closed for several hours while the accident investigators were working.
