One person injured in three-vehicle accident

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – One person was taken to an area hospital with injuries Saturday afternoon after a three-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Park Road 22 and Jackfish Avenue.

The Corpus Christi Fire Department and Nueces County ESD 2 were called to the scene around 4 p.m.

There is no information about the cause of the accident or the severity of the person’s injuries.

ESD 2 Fire Chief Weston Beseda said there was not necessarily anyone “trapped” in the vehicles, but that due to the complexity of the vehicle’s situation after the accident, they required assistance from firefighters.

Apparently two trucks and a minivan collided, with a blue Ram coming to rest between and on top of the other two vehicles.

Traffic was disrupted for some time, but the scene was cleared by 5 p.m. Police chief Besada said that in incidents like this, roads can be cleared within about 30 minutes as emergency crews work to remove vehicles from the road.
