Six arrests, “zipper gun” seized after traffic stop: CHP

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Six men were arrested after detectives stopped a stolen vehicle in Bakersfield.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol’s Kern County Auto Theft Task Force reported that Daniel Garcia Mendez, Randall Vincent Searcy, Kyle Douglas Cordoneir, Timothy Ventura, Zachary Shane Osteen and Jaron Ellis were recently arrested for suspected possession of stolen property and illegal weapons.


Mendez and Searcy were arrested during a traffic stop for suspected possession of a stolen vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a “zip gun” and suspected probation violation.

The investigation led detectives to a nearby residence where Cordoneir, Ventura, Osteen and Ellis were arrested. According to the CHP, several stolen items and illegal weapons were recovered.
