Newport Police Arrest and Dispatch Report: May 7-8

The Newport Police Department provided the following arrest and dispatch logs from 7:00 a.m. May 7 to 7:00 a.m. May 8, 2024.

Arrest report

On Tuesday, May 7, at 1:30 a.m., Michael Judge, 67, of Newport, Rhode Island, was cited/cited by Officer Cavallaro for the closure of beaches, parks and Cliff Walk.

On Tuesday, May 7, at 10:04 a.m., Brian Kelley, 41, of Middletown, Rhode Island, was arrested by Officer Anderson on charges of forgery and license plate forgery.

On Wednesday, May 8, at 1:40 a.m., Karen Reise, 53, of Newport, Rhode Island, was arrested by Officer San Antonio on charges of resisting lawful or unlawful arrest and obstructing the execution of the duties of an officer.

On Wednesday, May 8, at 1:40 a.m., Michael Slonski, 54, of Coventry, Rhode Island, was taken into custody by Officer Ballantine on charges of Resisting Lawful or Unlawful Arrest and Warrant A and Other PD.

Presumption of Innocence: Individuals arrested, detained, or cited/summoned should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
