20-year-old shot dead in Akron on Saturday afternoon

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — A young man was shot and killed in Akron Saturday afternoon, police reported.

Just before 3:30 p.m., officers were called to the corner of Raymond and Bartges streets for a shooting. When they arrived, they found a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the back. Officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials are currently notifying the family before releasing the victim’s name.

An investigation revealed that “several male subjects” were in the area at the time of the shooting and were observed quickly dispersing.

Police said no arrests have been made so far and are asking the public for help in solving the incident.
