Congressional Black Caucus wants to educate Georgia voters about their rights – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — Members of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and Georgia voters gathered in downtown Atlanta Saturday to highlight the importance of voting in the November general election.

The foundation hosted an event at the Loudermilk Conference Center to address a national racial equity initiative on voting rights and representation.

Channel 2’s Veronica Griffin was present at the event where attendees heard several panel discussions during which organizers say the mission is to explore democracy and the ongoing fight for fair voting rights across the United States.

“We know that there are many barriers that try to stop our power and silence our voice, so we wanted to make sure that we travel here to Georgia, travel to the South to have this important conversation about what we can do to empower each other, but also see what we can do to get more people out,” said Olajumoke Abayanju of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.
