APD investigates murder near Dessau Road in north Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police said they are investigating a Murder in north Austin Saturday morning after one person died.

According to APD, the incident occurred outside the Waffle House near the 12300 block of Dessau Road after a call came in shortly after 6 a.m.

According to APD, two people were injured. One person died at a nearby hospital, the second was in stable condition after the incident. According to APD, it is not clear if the injured were employees or customers.

At this point, investigators said they had no information about the suspect. Police believe this was an isolated incident and there was no ongoing threat to the public.

According to APD, this will be investigated as the 25th homicide case in Austin in 2024.
