NBA star makes inflammatory statement about Houston Rockets’ Dillon Brooks

Why can’t everyone get along?

Well, personalities clash. Some people just don’t fit in. In any walk of life, there will be people who fail to find common ground.

The NBA is no exception. DeMar DeRozan doesn’t care about Houston Rockets’ Dillon Brooks. How do we know?

He said it explicitly.

“I just don’t like him.”

DeMar DeRozan on Dillon Brooks

Well. DeRozan doesn’t sugarcoat anything here. He doesn’t like Dillon Brooks.

In all honesty, Brooks is a guy who has rubbed others the wrong way. That said, DeRozan’s comments stem from a specific incident that occurred during the Bulls-Rockets game in March.

“Don’t walk behind me, that’s rule number one, don’t walk on anyone behind them when their back is turned.”

DeMar DeRozan

Let’s talk about it. What really happened?

DeRozan doesn’t sugarcoat anything. So we’ll call a spade a spade as well.

It’s not a basketball game. DeRozan lashed out at Green in frustration. We’re not saying he’s a horrible person – these things happen. Still, Brooks had reason to defend his young teammate.

Of course, we are biased. This is SpaceCityScoop – it’s a Houston Rockets page.

Still, Brooks was hardly in stealth mode here. DeRozan turns around before Brooks makes physical contact.

Furthermore, the same term “heat of the moment” applies to Brooks here as it did to DeRozan when he pushed Green in the first place. He was upset. Why should Brooks control himself and wait for DeRozan to turn around when DeRozan couldn’t control himself before pushing Green?

Does any of this matter?

No.

We have concerns about Brooks. We don’t like his contract, and we’ve said so many times.

If there’s one thing we like about him, it’s his ability to get under the skin of his opponents. We love that Brooks defended Green:

Even if DeMar DeRozan sees things differently.
