2 people arrested after shooting at street festival in Rock Hill

ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) – Two men have been arrested after a shooting at a street festival in Rock Hill left two people dead and two others injured last weekend.

The shooting occurred on June 1 around 10 p.m. on Southland Drive, a residential area near Mt. Holly Road.

The Rock Hill Police Department said 44-year-old Montest Mincey and 21-year-old Maricus Kirk died at the scene. A 25-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were also shot but survived.

Days after the shooting, police identified 19-year-old D’markieoun Ji’shae Clyburn and 18-year-old Quantrel Jaheim Barrino as suspects in the shooting.

On June 7, a warrant was issued for Clyburn’s arrest and with the assistance of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, he was arrested later that day. Barrino was arrested early in the morning of June 8.

Clyburn is charged with murder, while Barrino is charged with aiding and abetting murder. Both are charged in connection with Mincey’s death and are being held in the Rock Hill Jail.

Investigators are continuing to investigate the case.
