Bedford, Texas: Police seek man in connection with woman’s death

BEDFORD, Texas – Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with the death of an elderly woman in Bedford.

Bedford police said officers were called to a home in the 2400 block of Meadow View around 4:14 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived, they found an elderly woman dead inside her home. The cause of death is unknown, police said.

Bedford police said officers found video surveillance footage that showed “a thin, light-skinned male wearing a black shirt, black tights, white tennis shoes and what appeared to be a wig walking toward the victim’s front door.” The woman opened the door and spoke to the man, who asked to use her phone, police said. After she refused, police believe the suspect forced his way into her home.

The video does not reveal what happened inside the house, but shows the suspect leaving the house a few minutes later, police said. Bedford police said investigators are not releasing the surveillance camera footage at this time for investigative reasons.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked by the Bedford Police Department to call (817) 952-2127.
