ABC-7 First Alert: Triple-digit heat continues

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Due to the heat, the first warning level ABC-7 remains in effect for us. Temperatures in the triple digits are expected in both Las Cruces and El Paso.

Moderate moisture at low elevations combined with southerly airflow aloft will produce isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, repeating on Sunday.

The biggest concern with these storms is the strong winds.

Starting Sunday, a high pressure system will move into the desert southwest, ending all showers and leading to dangerously hot temperatures through Wednesday and Thursday.
