Man rapes woman in parking lot and tries to kidnap her daughter, police in California say

A man was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a parking lot, California officials said.

The victim told police that the man rode a bicycle into the parking lot of a Santa Ana market and sexually assaulted her, according to a police Facebook post on June 5.

The identity of the man has not yet been revealed. Nor has the exact day of the attack been announced.

According to police, after the attack, he tried to drag her daughter away before fleeing.

The man was arrested nearby, officials said.

He reportedly “harmed” two other people on the same day, police said.

A Santa Ana police spokesman told McClatchy News that the other victims were minors.

Santa Ana is located about 30 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
