Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen cancels election rallies after attack – POLITICO

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen cancelled planned election events after she was attacked in Copenhagen on Friday evening, just hours before polling stations opened for the European elections in Denmark.

The Prime Minister’s Office said the attack “caused mild whiplash,” according to a statement released on Saturday, which was also reported by local media. Overall, the Danish head of government was “in good condition but shaken by the incident,” the statement said.

According to media reports, her office said Frederiksen’s planned participation in events on Saturday in Herlev, Rødovre, Roskilde, Holbæk and Slagelse had been cancelled.
