1 dead, 2 in hospital after crash in Butler County – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

BUTLER COUNTY – One person is dead and two people were hospitalized following a crash in Butler County early Saturday morning.

Around 3 a.m., officers and paramedics responded to a head-on collision between two vehicles on U.S. 127, south of Harris Road.

A Toyota Camry was traveling south on 127 when it veered left off center and collided head-on with another car, according to a news release from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota were trapped in the vehicle.

After their rescue, both were flown by AirCare to the University of Cincinnati with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Chrysler was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Speed ​​and alcohol appear to play a role in the accident in the initial phase of the investigation.

The accident remains under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
