Albany woman killed in UTV crash in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Missouri (KMIZ)

An Albany, Missouri woman was killed in a UTV accident in Morgan County Friday night.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, Jacob Dye, 37, of Albany, and his passenger Shawna Dye, 36, of Albany, were driving a 2023 Polaris RZR up a hill when the vehicle lost traction and rolled down a hill near the Road Park turnoff at around 6:15 p.m.

Both were thrown from the UTV. Shawna Dye was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Jacob Dye suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital, according to the report.

According to the report, neither of the two people had any safety devices at the time of the accident.

The UTV suffered significant damage and was towed from the scene.

This is the second fatal accident in Troop F in June and the 17th fatal accident in 2024.
