TCS employees’ claims have been suspended due to a security incident report

One user recommended using the company’s escalation matrix to resolve the issue. (Representative)

According to a Reddit post, a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee was allegedly suspended after reporting a security issue. The employee was suspended for reporting that the manager allegedly directed employees to use their “personal laptops” and “share login credentials.”

The user further mentioned in his post that he was frustrated because he was suspended despite TCS supposedly having a policy to protect whistleblowers. They revealed that “HR and managers wouldn’t help me” because of “bad relationships” and asked the Reddit community for advice on how to handle the situation.

When asked about the reason for the ban, they said they would be held responsible for “everything I reported, such as sharing customer login details, using a personal laptop for work and communicating via WhatsApp.”

A user suggested raising the issue on LinkedIn and tagging senior officials of the Tata Group and not just TCS as the alleged actions violate the Tata Code of Conduct. They advised: “Spread this like wildfire on X, LinkedIn and other social media platforms.”

Another user recommended using the company’s escalation matrix to resolve the issue. (An escalation matrix is a step-by-step guide to handling and resolving issues within an organization by escalating them to higher levels of authority.) The user suggested: “Make it clear that you intend to move to the top of the matrix and that any level that refuses to comply is going under the bus.” They also mentioned that the top level of the Tata Group takes the guidelines seriously and encouraged them to take action against those who violate them. They also recommended considering other job opportunities and being prepared to move if necessary.

Someone claimed that TCS is no longer the same and stated, “I can’t trust anyone from the management side, especially after the change on the CEO side.”
