Accident on Interstate 49 resolved

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Arkansas (KNWA/KFTA) — TO UPDATE: The Arkansas Department of Transportation said the scene of the accident had been cleared.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Arkansas (KNWA/KFTA) – Portions of Interstate 49 are closed following an accident involving emergency vehicles, IDriveArkansas reports.

A camera on IDrive south of the Bobby Hopper Tunnel shows a car in the median. Several emergency vehicles block both northbound lanes and one southbound lane.

A helicopter is also on site.

Traffic is backed up until mile 39.

However, according to incident reports, no injuries were reported.
