Garden City police arrest man accused of raping woman in her sleep

WICHITA, Kansas (KSNW) – Garden City police said a man was arrested Friday on suspicion of raping a woman while she was sleeping.

A GCPD press release states that officers were dispatched to the northern part of Garden City on Friday, where they encountered a woman who stated that an altercation had just occurred between her and a 28-year-old man she knew.

Police said the investigation revealed that the woman woke up and the man sexually assaulted her before leaving the scene.

The man was later located and taken into custody. He was charged with rape and grievous bodily harm.
