Man arrested after fatal shooting at gas station on American Way, police say

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a shooting at a gas station.

On June 6, police responded to a shooting at an Exxon gas station on American Way near Getwell Road.

When police arrived, they found a male victim lying unconscious on the ground, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man was taken to a hospital where he later died from his gunshot wounds.

After further investigation, MPD identified Dameon Thomas as the prime suspect in the shooting.

It also emerged that he had already been convicted of aggravated burglary in 2009.

Thomas is now facing charges of premeditated murder and possession of weapons as a convicted felon.
