Memphis man shot in driving aggression incident

“Anyone who can just arbitrarily take a human life… I cannot understand that kind of evil,” said the victim.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – On Friday afternoon, ABC24 spoke exclusively with a man who nearly died in a road rage shooting on Sunday afternoon.

“Anyone who can just arbitrarily take a human life or have so little importance for the life of another human being … I cannot understand that kind of evil,” said the victim.

According to the victim, he was driving home near Sam Cooper Boulevard when he noticed a gray Nissan driving erratically next to him and nearly hit him.

He said he continued east on Sam Cooper to I-40 when the erratic driver left the road at the intersection with 240 and opened fire.

The victim said at least three shots were fired, presumably from an automatic weapon. One of the shots hit his side, another hit his windshield a few inches from his head, and the third bullet struck his arm.

He said he called 911 and was taken to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to his forearm. Fortunately, he did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

“It missed me by inches. Yes. I never thought this would happen to me,” the victim said.
