Person found dead in burning house in Citrus Heights

A person was found dead in a Citrus Heights home that burned Friday, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. Officials said the home on Oak Grove Avenue near Auburn Boulevard has been extinguished. It is unknown what sparked the fire. CITRUS HEIGHTS, California —

According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, a person was found dead in a Citrus Heights home that burned down Friday.

Officials said the house fire on Oak Grove Avenue near Auburn Boulevard has been extinguished.

Citrus Heights police are taking over the investigation into the body, Metro Fire said.
