Sources: Suspect dead after shooting involving deputy sheriff in St. Johns County

St. John’s County, Florida. – A suspect died Friday afternoon following a shooting involving a sheriff’s deputy in St. Johns County, multiple sources told News4JAX.

The shooting occurred on US-1 near Old Moultrie Road.

According to News4JAX sources, a deputy with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office shot the suspect after he rammed a deputy’s patrol car.

The MP was unharmed, but the man died.

Traffic on US-1 is currently closed.

According to News4JAX records, this is the sixth police-involved shooting in the past five weeks.
